NCCF: A TOOL IN THE HAND OF CORPS MEMBERS FOR THE EXPANSION OF GOD'S KINGDOM

As the name implies, the Nigeria Christian Corpers' Fellowship (NCCF) is a nondenominational fellowship of Christian Corps members with branches in all 36 states of Nigeria and Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The fellowship operates on three platform; first as a FELLOWSHIP, FAMILY and ORGANIZATION.

With a well-structured leadership, NCCF remains the most vibrant and well organized youth body in Nigeria today. It helps Christian corpers to live and relate for proper spiritual and moral growth. NCCF has a structure that if any corper can subject to will find his/her service to God and father's land fulfilling. Let me share my unforgettable experience as a Jesus Corper

1. NCCF AS HELPER.
With the crowd of corpers that are new to the system, NCCF helps in filling all the forms properly and direct you to the next place to go until you're through. Charging of phones is always free at NCCF tent. Whenever you run out of cash, NCCF is always there for you. Just submit your ATM card, they will save you the stress of taking permission to go out and your pin is surely save with them. Even after the camp, the fellowship will still guide in registration at the LG, directing new corps members to their PPAs & opening their account. These relieves some people that are not used to the stress which an average Nigerian see as normal.

2. PROMPT INFORMATION
Many useful information about what and when to do what from beginning of the camp till the end of your service year will be communicated mostly to you in d evening fellowship, to make your service year less stressful.

3. ACCOMMODATION AFTER CAMP
Absolutely, family house is a wonderful place to be, a place where the spirit of oneness is being embraced. A place where the strength of spiritual growth can never be compromised. It's not an exaggeration that the day you go to your PPA (Place of Primary Assignment) from camp is always a stressful day, also with great fear of where you are going. NCCF will send bus to camp from different zones to convey corpers free to their destination and the NCCF family house is always open for anybody to live.

4. MORAL AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH
For those that lived in the family house, what I'm saying will not sound strange. NCCF helped corps members to have a better relationship with their maker with sound biblical doctrine being taught. NCCF helped to change every evil perception and plan for or about NYSC. Many see NYSC as a free place for immoralities and also to meet with new people. We have rules we call ancient landmarks in the family house which has helped millions of corps members staying connected to God.

5. TALENT DISCOVERY
NCCF helps in harnessing spiritual and social lives. In fact, it’s an avenue to have a family in a distant land. NCCF will help u to discover yourself right from the camp. You are free to join any unit and develop yourself in anything your heart desire. There are some that confess that it's NCCF that help them to discover their talent/spiritual gifts in doing what they are doing. Drama, Choir, Bible teaching, Instrumentalist, Ushering and so on........

6. LEADERSHIP
Looking at d way duties and functions of executives are been done, you will think that they have been there for years, whereas it’s just by training and the divine guidance of the holy spirit. By the grace of God I was so close to the executives which helps me to really know a lot about what it takes to serve as an executive in NCCF. The experience was so wonderful. National conference, state rugged, state conference, zonal rugged, and the GENCO is a great experience that prepare you for future executive life.

7. FAMILY SETTING
The family setting of the family house is just so wonderful. Where you have to see 'Papa' as your father no matter his age. It helps one to be humble and respect authorities. It prepares you for the future family you are going into. As a Mama you will learn how to cook, take care of many people and be submissive to the order of your husband. As Uncle you learn to be a disciplinarian, to keep records, relate with people and so on.....

8. RURAL RUGGED
NCCF is a vibrant force in the service of God and Humanity. Several forgotten villages have been reached by NCCF, thus restoring hope to the hopeless and putting smiles on the face of the less privileged. Our core vision "RURAL RUGGED EVANGELISM" will expose you and help you to experience the type of life other people are living. You are happy when you minister to the less privileged in word of God, which is the great commandment to every Christian while also ministering to their social, physical, medical and psychological needs. You will be happy with the level of Joy the villagers feel within those few days.
These and many more are the reason I always thank God for NCCF.

 9. THE FAMILY SONG
This song mean so much to us as a family. It constantly reminds you of the kind of love that only NCCF can give to you as a corps members in the body of Christ. You will sing the song on camp every day after fellowships and also in the family house. The wordings of the song are so true and real that after your service year, you will actually be glad to be a part of the great family called N.C.C.F.
The song goes thus.............

I love this family of God
 So closely knitted into one......
They have taken me into their arms and I'm so glad to be....
A part of this great family.

10. IN CONCLUSION
NCCF will be so glad to receive you with open arms irrespective of who you are (your colour, tribe, background, denomination, and so on......) in any state of the federation including FCT.
It is always our song and our prayer that

NCCF will never die..........
Rural Rugged will never die.......
Tell me do you really love this family...

A Heart Melt Real Story (A MUST READ)

This is the image of Shila Ghosh, an 83year old woman who lived in India and in the nation's fourth-most populous city.

Her only son had heart ailment and passed away a few months ago. To make ends meet, the old lady now works.
Every evening, Shila comes from Pali Koltaka to sell chips. When asked if she has a problem in travelling, she weakly smiled and says, "No, the bus gets me here and my health is not that bad".

Circumstances could have easily forced her to beg but her dignity and respect is everything for her. She is determined to work until the end of her life, rather than to beg on a street.

She chose to solve her problems on her own, though they say, God help those who helped themselves but I say God helps those that are helpless.

Because she prefered to make her own living, many people offered to help without making her feel dependent on anyone. Some are also helping her to build a kiosk...

Why stay angry and hungry?

It is not news that the average young Nigerian is angry and in most cases, hungry. According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), 60 per cent of Nigerians live on less than $1 (~N160) a day. Though problematic, Nigeria’s minimum wage law provides this standard of living: N600/day = N18,000/month = N216,000/year. However, for those living in poverty, this is their reality: N160/day = N4,800/month = N57,600/year.

The National Youth Policy defines a Nigerian youth as someone between the ages of 18 and 35. Per the 2006 census, 50 per cent of Nigerians were between 18 and 35. According to the National Population Council, there are 167 million Nigerians as of July 2012. If we assume the ratio has stayed the same, there are approximately 83.5 million Nigerians in this age bracket. The Africa Economic Outlook 2012 estimates that Nigeria’s youth unemployment rate is 37.7 per cent. In reality, the rate is probably higher. So, little surprise that young Nigerians are angry and hungry when 31 million of them are jobless!

This is my challenge to you today as we celebrate another independent day, don't add to the number, STAND OUT of the number and subtract from the number by employing people. Nigeria is a wonderful country to do business.

SHUT UP AND START SOMETHING TODAY!!!

Nigeria will surely be great again.

NYSC Posting - My take!!!

My take on the recent NYSC posting. Please share and like, you could save a life.
Dear NYSC members, if you have been posted to any of the danger zones where Boko Haram is king, you are on your own if you go.
The fact that orientation camps can't hold in Yobe and Borno confirms that the states are not safe for corpers because it has been said that all the NYSC members posted to Yobe and Borno will have their orientation in Adamawa, then redeployed to Yobe and Borno but seriously........

If President Goodluck Jonathan himself could not visit Yobe and Borno, I see no reason why any corp member should be posted there.
How a responsible government sends citizens to serve in areas akin to bombing baffles me. I just don't understand the rationale.

Should any governor assure you of your safety in Yobe, please don't play foolish. He will be guarded by a battalion when Boko Haram strikes you.
Oyo state governor's daughter just got awarded in Oyo state for her meritorious service weeks ago as an ex corps member in Oyo state why can't they send their own children to the troubled zones.
If Boko Haram attacks northerners in church and anywhere? How will you guarantee the safety of corp members who are strangers?

GEJ will not condemn NYSC posting to Yobe and trouble zones but he's ready to condemn the deaths of corp members.
Should anything happen to any corp member posted to Yobe and trouble spots, GEJ via Abati has his condemnation speech ready.

To be fore warn is to be fore armed. He that has ears should listen now!!!

"Poorest" president in the world donates 90% of salary to charity.

How's this as a man of the people: The president of Uruguay, José Mujica, has earned a nickname , "el presidente mas pobre" (translation: "poorest president").
The 77-year-old recently admitted to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo  that he donates almost all of his presidential salary, making him the poorest, or, as Univision pointed out, most generous president, in the world.
El presidente explained he receives $12,500 a month but keeps only $1,250. The public servant told the newspaper, "I do fine with that amount; I have to do fine because there are many Uruguayans who live with much less."
He and his wife—a senator who also donates part of her salary—live in a farmhouse in Montevideo. His biggest expense is his Volkswagen Beetle, valued at $1,945.
Perhaps not surprisingly, under the former guerrilla fighter, who was elected in 2010 as a member of the left-wing coalition, the Broad Front, the country has become known for being one of the least corrupt on the continent.
Mujica has no bank accounts and no debt, and he enjoys one thing money can't buy: the companionship of his dog, Manuela.

A Corps Member With A Difference!

Ime Anwana's story was aired on NTA Newsline on Sunday March 25th 2012

A young lady, Ime Anwana, a Batch "A" corps member, was posted to serve in the NNPC depot in Niger State. She visited a friend serving at a local girls secondary secondary in the nearby village of Kaffin Koro and was told the school has no chemistry teacher.
Ime volunteered to use her free time on Friday evenings to teach chemistry to the students - free of charge. While teaching in the school she saw the sorry state of the student accommodation and took it upon herself to do something about it.
She raised the sum of 3.8 million naira and supervised the building of a student hostel equipped with 40 double bunk beds complete with mattresses.

One fateful day, while riding on a motorbike taxi (Okada) on the way to the project site she had an accident that killed the Okada rider and seriously injured her. She spent three weeks in a coma and was bed-ridden for three months.

On the NTA Newsline programme it was shown how the village of Kaffin Koro rolled out the drums to honour Miss Anwana for her work for them. The District Head of the village, Alhaji Abubakar Mamman gave her the chieftaincy title of Jekadiyan Kaffin Koro (Ambassador of Kaffin Koro) and also a piece of land in the village.

Ponder this:

1. Niger State, Ime's host state, is the home state of two former Presidents of the Federal Republic - Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar. Ironically (and sadly), one of them recently hosted a high-profile meeting in the same state to "discuss" the problem in the North. All they need is few minutes trip to Kaffin Koro and they will see the problem staring them in the eyes.

2. In the NTA Newsline report there was neither representation nor acknowledgement of Miss Anwana's work from - or - by her host, Niger State Government.

3. Paiko Local Government, under whose jurisdiction Kaffin Koro falls, has a Local Government Chairman, a State Assembly Representative, a National Assembly Representative and a Senator in Abuja. They all know (or should know) the state of that school long before Miss Anwana left her native Akwa Ibom State and arrived there. Don't you now think that the system is broken?

4. Miss Anwana's action throws a challenge not only to the Mandarins in the Northern political set up but also to young northerners closer to her age who have either silently acquiesced to the status quo or have been driven into the welcome arms of religious extremist due to the dearth of opportunities in the North.

If you are a reading this and you are a northerner - silently admit to yourself that Ime's action has shamed most of u. And then pledge to do whatever you can, no matter how little, to reverse the decline (moral, educational, social, economic) in your community.

What do you think of Ms Ime as a Nigerian?

The story of the living legend LIONEL MESSI.

Whether you are a Barca fan or not, everyone admits that Lionel Messi is a delight to watch playing football.

Messi plays for Barcelona FC. He is a three-time FIFA World Player of the Year.
Some days ago, he scored five times( a Champions League record and also a personal record). Later, he scored another two goals. Messi scored 53 goals in 55 matches for his club last season. He already has 50 in 43 matches so far this campaign.

Many people believe he is one of the greatest football players the world has even seen. But Messi has not always been successful.

At age ten, Messi faced a major threat to his future soccer career; he had a growth hormone deficiency. This deficiency would limit his ability to cope with the physical demands of football.

Messi desperately needed growth hormones or he would have stopped growing at 4ft 7in but his father's health insurance was limited and couldn't cover the expensive treatment.

The story changed when Barcelona offered to pay for the hormone treatment in return for Messi signing for them aged just 13.

Today, Messi is scoring, Barca is winning and both Messi and Barca are happy and successful.

Few lessons.
1. Employers need to see the gold in their staff. In that physically- retarded boy with health challenges was a star of the future. Invest in your staff.

2. Your health challenge could seem to be a huge problem, but help is on its way.

3. Nothing limits you. Till date, Messi is relatively smaller than his mates, could be weak but he is still playing excellent football. You have no excuse.

4. God compensates for your weaknesses. Messi is short. As a result he has a low center of gravity. This makes it difficult for him to fall down easily. Messi has short legs, but they are fast too.

5. Finally, don't make judgement based on today, consider the future. While Messi was playing as a kid, he looked 2 years younger than his mates. If Barca had judged him based on that, they would have lost gold.

Wow!!! In all, Messi's story confirms to me (Vicmoss Ibukun Olagoke) what I have always believed:
"IT'S NOT WHAT YOU LACK THAT WILL SLOW YOU DOWN. NO! ITS WHAT YOU'VE GOT BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO PUT IT TO ITS BEST USE".

So let's settle this matter once and for all...
EVERYTHING you NEED to START your journey to GREATNESS is already WITHIN YOU.

Now, just go ahead and DELIVER THE FUTURE.
You can. You must. You will.
